Welcome to St Mary's

St. Mary’s is a small school with a big vision – one that reflects our core belief: “I can do all things.” We are proud to offer a nurturing, family-like environment while benefiting from a site with the space and resources more commonly found in much larger schools. Originally built as a secondary school, St. Mary’s enjoys expansive grounds and exceptional facilities that enrich our pupils’ everyday experiences.

Our impressive outdoor learning spaces include multiple EYFS play areas, extensive school playgrounds, woodland trails, outdoor classrooms, a dedicated Forest School site, raised garden beds, a greenhouse, a vast sports field, and a fully equipped sports pavilion. These spaces are used daily to support a rich, creative, and varied curriculum that inspires a lifelong love of learning. We believe that primary school should be “the best years of a child’s life,” and we strive to make that a reality through every opportunity we provide.

We are incredibly proud that our school has been rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in our most recent inspection. This judgement reflects the dedication of our staff, the enthusiasm of our children, and the strength of our whole school community. Ofsted highlighted the high-quality education, exceptional pastoral care, and the joyful, purposeful atmosphere that defines St. Mary’s.

As part of the Midsomer Norton Schools' Partnership, we benefit from a strong network of collaboration, professional development, and ongoing investment that helps us continually grow and thrive. Our on-site nursery, Hedgehogs, offers a wonderful early years experience for children aged 2 to 4, and our wraparound care – including a well-loved breakfast club from 7:30am and after-school provision until 6:00pm – supports busy families with flexibility and peace of mind.

We warmly welcome prospective families to visit our school and see for themselves what makes St. Mary’s such a special place to learn and grow. Please get in touch to arrange a tour – we’d be delighted to show you around.

Mr Thomson, Head of School and Mrs Parsons, Executive Headteacher.
