Our class is made up of 29 enthusiastic and highly-motivated Year 4/5 Lions who possess an enthusiasm for learning, a strong work ethic and a desire to make good progress and become the best they can be.
The teacher of the Lions Class is Mr Daniels and learning in our classroom takes place in collaborative groups where dialogue with peers is encouraged as a tool to both assist and learn from each other.
Our super overall general behaviour around the school is matched by our positive learning behaviours inside the classroom, which we have established as a safe space and a supportive environment where mistakes are welcomed as key learning opportunities as we seek to make good academic progress.
We are currently mainly studying the Year 5 curriculum (with elements of the Year 4 curriculum brought in where this is more appropriate) and this means that we have some very interesting topics which children always seem to enjoy, for example Earth and Space in Science, Tropical Rainforests in Geography and the Maya Civilisation in History.
There are always lots of exciting opportunities to extend our learning outside of the classroom too, which will include educational visits to take part in a Courtroom Workshop at Bristol Civil and Family Centre with the National Justice Museum and also to the Field to Food Learning Day run by the Royal Bath and West Society.
