Recently at our school, a new reading lodge was built; we have decided to name it the Book Burrow. It was a whopping £15,000! It is run by our School Council; they use a checklist to make sure that it is a pleasant place for everybody who is in there. It is a calm building where children can read books and have books read to them.
The school raised some of the money for the Book Burrow and the school council wrote to Mr Williams, the CEO of the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership, for fundraising ideas. However, instead of ideas, he gave us £13,000 to help build it! We had an author called Jasbinder Bilan, who writes excellent adventure books, come in for the grand opening of the Book Burrow on Tuesday 4th June. She had the honour of cutting the ribbon.
We have a range of books in there, including some written by Jasbinder, that everyone can enjoy. We are very lucky to have this wonderful addition to the school and we hope it will still be there for years to come. We would also like to give a big thank you to Mr Williams for the money he gave us to build it.
